There will soon be a United Nations climate summit, known as COP27. Poor countries expect lots of money from rich countries. It is called “Loss and damage”. When you see “Loss and damage” you know it means lots of money. Rich countries wants to look like they are doing something about climate change. In the end they will sign some document that says much must be, but they are not forced to anything. Formulations will have to be tweaked until all nations are can accept it. This year people are more interested in the war in Ukraine and rising prices and energy. I doubt that any politician can promise to do anything that costs a lot of money. That will prevent them from doing anything stupid. I will smile when Egyptian police takes care of some western protester mentioning human rights. Maybe the protesters don’t dare to go Egypt. At COP27 you complain about rich countries. Not about human rights in shithole countries.
